If you can borrow an XP Home CD you can use this to get the product key for the current installation

This is the key you enter, not the one from the borrowed CD

I still don't have a physical XP Home CD. I asked my friend for that first, but he only had the XP Professional. So, could I still do the repair?

Not for Home with a Pro disc
See if you can borrow one from somewhere
I saw a post where they suggested removing Nero 7.5.11 and installing 7.0.8.2

If I knew anyone who had one, I'd have done that by now. I'll keep my mind open for someone who might have one.
What do I do with the Nero file advrctr2.dll?

Can I just make a Windows XP Setup Boot Disk from www.windowsupdate.com? Isn't this the same as the Windows XP Home disk? I can download files from this site.

Use the Setup disks
After you create all six disks, insert the first disk in the floppy disk drive, and then restart the computer. The computer must be configured to boot from the floppy disk drive. You may have to modify the BIOS settings on your computer to do this.
The Setup process starts. Insert the other floppy disks as you are prompted to do so.
You must use the Windows XP CD-ROM to finish the Setup process.

Okay, so I removed Nero once again with the Clean Tool. Only now, there's this freakin Nero Search tool in my taskbar. I can't get it out of there and I don't want it!!!! How do I remove this? It didn't remove with the rest of Nero.

How do I modify BIOS settings? This is getting into a realm where I feel little confidence to work. I think I've seen this before when in Safe Mode. Can't remember which option it was, but I'm certain I've seen BIOS before.

Right click it, click options, remove the tick for enable, click apply
Run the clean tool
You get BIOS set up by tapping the delete key as soon as you press the power button. It also has it on the first screen
Remember the set up discs will only start set up, you will still need an XP Home CD

I've already tried to right click it. There is no option to remove it! I've already tried running the cleaning tool to remove absolutely everything. It says I have to restart. I'll try that. I really don't want something like that stupid search bar that I never even asked for.
