Hello,

First things first do I have to use a XBOX wireless device? Are there alternative meaning cheaper ones.

This is what i have got:

A motorola SB5100 cable modem connected to a Netgear wireless router (WGR614) via ethernet. My Motorola Modem is also connected to my Pc via USB. My pc is therefore wired.

I have a spare Netgear wireless adapter (WG111) I was wondering if I could use this for my xbox wireless device? I know I can use it for my pc but i have no need for a wireless PC as it right next to my modem and wires dont get in my way.

Is this possible? Or do I need a special wireless device for my xbox or even the microsoft xbox one?

PS---RANT!!!!!

Why do Microsoft always charge the world for there accessories, first they sell you two xbox packages the core package and the better one. If you get the core pack, you then need a hard drive (£70) for xbox live or just to save games. Then you need xbox live (£44), then you need a headset (£14), Wireless controllers they need a charger (£15), if you want freedom you need a wireless adapter (£60). Maybe its just me beign tight but I think its a joke!!!!!!!!

thanks.

Ive read that you can use the Xbox wireless adapter on the Xbox 360, it'll run you 25 bucks instead of 99. I would read up on it a bit more before you go out and buy it though.

Issues with your router should be posted in the "Networking" Forums, I would help you, but I tend to break Networks when I try to fix things...

Also, if its an option....You can buy a Cat5 cable and go from your router to the xbox directly, and you do not have to rely on wireless :whistling:
