Hi there...

a bit new here (hope i'm not too vague)

Too cut a long story short, i've tried to get rid of what i think was a virus, but it's ended up not allowing me to boot off cd and keeps defaulting to:

Trap 00000001
Debug trap
(and a whole lot of numbera and errors after it)

This occurs when I press and key too boot from cd. I've spent days trying to reslove it.

I've found a\in my disk collection "RC1" which is a time limited for testing purposes only pre release of win Xp Pro that seems to boot, so i've reformatted the drive, and installed it, managed to get the internet working, and still have the same prob.

Have been through the checklist before posting here.... still unresolved.
All I want to do now is install my original win XP disk but i can't seem to.

Hers the first file

well,

heres an update.

just in case anyone with a Dell Optiplex GX270 has a similar problem, I managed to solve my problem
thanks to Dell telephone support.

Unusual problem, as more often than not the symptom is related to a hardware fault and most likely
leaking capacitors on the mother board.

In my case it was a faulty Windows XP Pro disk. Still doesn't explain why it did it though?

I did have Malware though, so it was not fruitless checking out this site!

Cheers
