I have a toughbook which I just installed a new dual layer dvd burner in. My problem is that it has caused a couple min lang in between the panasonic screen were yo can go into the bios and the windows xp boot up screen with the little bar running across it.The reason I know it has something to do with the drive is because I can slide the caddy out and it will only take a few seconds like it sould. The toughbook sees the drive (according to windows) and I've had no problem reading regular cds with it (haven't tried any dual layer ones yet) Once windows comes up everything seems fine. Can anyone tell me why this is happening and what I can do about it? :whistling:
Thanks for any info

Did you get a cd with drivers for the dvd-rw? If windows does not recoginize the drive model( it was made after windows came out) it will look thru all the drivers it has installed before picking what it thinks is the best one. These drivers may not be correct so it is slow loading up. You can look for drivers on the makers website.
