computer wont start

hi, i came to turn on my computer ealyier and when i pressed the power button nothing happened. i had a look 2 see if any cables were loose but they were all plugged firmly in so i plugged a fan in the socket to see if there was power and it was fine, i then took off the side and the motherboard light is on but still nothing happens when i press the power button. if anyone knows what this could be plz help thx alot

- os =
- age =

suggest:
- turn off comp
- open comp
- how many bars of ram, if two, take out one, test, then try with the other
- post back to rule out

Any lights on the front panel work e.g On light, Hard drive light?

Try disconnecting the power supply from the mains for a min or 2 and plug back in and try that.
