Hello,
I can not get updates to work from Windows update after having been hit with a keylogger (Wow Based) (Norton found Wow Infostealer) I am not sure the two are related but I am posting here for some help. None of the searches on the microsoft web site have resulted in any useful information.

After having 8 critical updates, I downloaded files but then the system stops and I get the message :"Updates unable to be succesfully installed"

I found a few weeks ago a keylogger on my computer. Since I was running Norton Antivirus I was surprised that it had been downloaded and was active. I did a search on this forum and found out that my computer was not nearly as safe as I had thought. When running Spybot, there were a number of files on startup that didn't look right. One of these was svc0st.exe and I deleted this file and references in the registry. I used the blocking feature of Spybot and installed the updates from the Microsoft site.

The reason for writing this post is that I can not now update from the Microsoft web site, using windows update. The files will download but can not be installed. I have internet set at medium for this zone.

Any help would be appreciated. I have also run Panda and it has not found any additional security issues.

I apologize if I have not included any additional information necessary.

Thank you,

Bryan
