Hi,
I have just changed from one av provider, norton, to avast,
and although i have removed all traces of norton avast detects that it is running and disables itself, how can i erase norton av altogether??

Which Nortons do you have
it depends on which product as to how it is removed

Thanks for the quick reply, i was using 'norton internet secutity 2005' by symantec.

You have to use Internet explorer for this
Print out the instructions on this page
Download the tool and all should be fine.
Uninstall Nortons 2005
