Malware Causing system to run much slower?

Somebody(not me) downloaded stupid online games onto my system, and ever since the computer has ran much slower. I've now uninstalled the games and it's made no difference. Running AVG and ZA pro editions, I expected the suspected virus to be removed. I even ran McAfee QuickClean and the dreaded Windows Defender. All four programs never found anything. I deleted all the internet cache, history etc, defragmented the computer then ran Disk Cleanup, to no avail.

sorry for the delay, welcome to GeeksToGo :whistling:

run HijackThis and place a checkmark next to the following entry:

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Spooler SubSystem App] C:\WINDOWS\System32\spooIsv.exe

then close all other open windows and click "fix checked"

next, open up My Computer, and delete the following file:

C:\WINDOWS\System32\spooIsv.exe

finally, reboot and post a fresh HijackThis log
