My computer crashes very soon after I boot it. Inspector screen reports always the same error:" Windows\Explorer.exe 4.72.3110.1 caused exception C0000005 at address 00E832 DC ".
I have followed the instructions and have reinstalled Windows 3 times, ran scanreg and system file checker.
My problem appear to have started about 2 weeks ago. Some days I had to boot 2 times to open my computer. A few days ago I ran Avast and a pop up screen told me that I had a Trojan. I deleted it before writing down its name. Also on each reinstall of Windows 98SE I got a message in the middle of the reinstall: "An exception OE has occured at 0028: c19646F3 in VxD. This was called from 0028:C1962825 in VxD CDVSD(01) + 00000E65". The other messages were almost similar.
I have spent many hours researching these errors and trying different solution. I hope you can assist me
