Hi all,

I was wondering if anybody out there would be able to help me. I have just installed tiger woods 07 on my computer. After i play for about 1 minute( if im licky) the game freezes for 5 -10 seconds and then just gives me a black screen. I have a ati readeon(??????) 9600 graphics card. i thought my drivers may be out dated so i installed ati control centre to fix that. i then tried to play again and still the same problem. i am asking for help as i am a total computer numpty andreally would like to play some games. i also only use to play championship manager 06 and when i was playing the game would come up with thin green and black lines and i would not be able to play anthing and i would have to reset.

anyhelp would be appreciated

cheers

ryan

P.s. somebody suggested to format my hard drive but i would know if this is good or if i should do it

cheers

ryan

Uninstall then reinstall the drivers for your graphics card, also for your sound card too.

Before doing this create a restore point in case something goes wrong.

if that dont work, uninstall and reinstall the game(s) that are effected.

I dont think you need to reformat the HD, this is last resort, and you should exhaust all options first

Well really nealy all GC are expensive but the only ones that arent probly wouldnt be compatiable.

The other thing i can think of is your RAM but you have heaps to play that game.

Have you try changing the refresh rate of your screen?

Does your whole computer freeze after it closes?

first how do i change my refresh rate and also the screen freezes for about 5 seconds then goes blank and the screen goes to like the computer is not on just the monitor is on. Says cables are not connected.

could it be a virus or anything like that and the drive the game is in only has around 15% left. if i move it to another drive with more space could that help???

You would have to change refresh rate in game if you can

There might be something wrong with your monitor?

I dont think it would be a virus but you should check just in case

If you move it to a hard drive with more space I find it makes it a bit faster so try uninstalling the game and reinstalling it onto a different HD

Note: You would have to change the target of where it will install it
