Hello duchee_blondgirl and welcome to the GTG forums. After reviewing your log I see a few items that require our attention. Before we get to the fix let me explain a little about Dr. Watson.

Dr. Watson in and of itself is not a problem or an infection. Dr. Watson is a built-in part of the operating system that reports non-normal activity on your system. It is doing what it its supposed to do. If you see messages from Dr. Watson then what you are seeing is a problem with either hardware or software that is operating incorrectly. The messages displayed tell you what part of the system is not performing normally.

Now let's get to the fix. Please proceed with the following steps in order.

Step #1

Important
Your copy of HijackThis needs to be in a folder of it's own. If it is run from Temporary folders the backups and HijackThis itself could be accidentally deleted if the Temporary folders are cleaned.* Please open My Computer
* Double-click on Local Disk (C:)
* Click on the File menu, point to New and then click on Folder. Name the folder 'HijackThis' or 'HJT'.
* Unzip to or copy and paste HijackThis.exe to the new folder.
Step #2

Once you have properly moved HijackThis start HijackThis and click the Scan button to perform a scan. Look for the following items and click in the checkbox in front of each item to select it:R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Page_URL = about:blank
R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Local Page =
R3 - Default URLSearchHook is missing
O4 - Global Startup: QuitTime.lnk = C:\QuitTime\QuitTime.exe
O9 - Extra button: (no name) - {CD67F990-D8E9-11d2-98FE-00C0F0318AFE} - (no file)
O16 - DPF: {10000000-1000-0000-1000-000000000000} -
O16 - DPF: {205FF73B-CA67-11D5-99DD-444553540006} (CInstall Class) - http://www.errorguar...ion/Install.cab
O16 - DPF: {88D758A3-D33B-45FD-91E3-67749B4057FA} - http://dm.screensave.../sinstaller.cab
O23 - Service: Microsoft Windows OLE (WinOLE) - Unknown owner - C:\RECYCLER\S-1-5-21-57989841-1715567821-725345543-1004\service.exe

These next items are fixes I recommend that you make:

NoAdware is considered a rogue application that uses aggressive advertising and false positives to goad you into purchasing it.O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [NoAdware] "C:\Program Files\NoAdware\NoAdware.exe" /s
Now close ALL open windows except HijackThis and click the Fix Checked button to finish the repair.

Step #3

Now we will remove some programs using Add or Remove Programs in the Control Panel:* Click Start.
* Click Control Panel.
* Double-click Add or Remove Programs.
* Look in the Currently installed programs box for each program listed below and if it is there:* Click on it to select it.
* Click Change (or Change/Remove) button.
* If you are prompted to confirm the removal of the program, click Yes.NoAdware

Step #4

We need to make sure all hidden files are showing so please:* Click Start.
* Open My Computer.
* Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
* Select the View tab.
* Under the Hidden files and folders heading select Show hidden files and folders.
* Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
* Click Yes to confirm.
* Click OK.
Find the following files/folders and delete them (don't worry if they are already gone):C:\QuitTime\ <--folder
C:\Program Files\NoAdware\ <--folder

Next, let's clean up the temporary folders:* Click Start
* Point to Programs
* Point to Accessories
* Point to System Tools
* Click Disk Cleanup
* Select the following items and then click the OK button.* Temp Setup Files
* Downloaded Program Files
* Temp Internet Files
* Debug Dump Files
* Office Setup Files
* old chkdsk files
* Recycle Bin
* Temp Remote Desktop Files
* Setup Log Files
* Temp Files
* WebClient temp files
Step #4

OK. Reboot your computer normally, start HijackThis and perform a new scan. Post your new log file back here using the Add Reply button and I will review it when it comes in.

Hi again duchee_blondgirl. We still have a couple of things to take care of. You are still running HijackThis from a temporary directory. Let's put it in it's own directoryby doing this:Double-click on hijackthis_sfx.exe and click on the UnZip button to install the program. This will install the program to c:\program files\HijackThis.
Next, download CleanUp! and install it. Do not run it yet.

Start HijackThis and follow these steps:* Click on Config button
* Click on the Misc Tools button
* Click on the Open Process Manager button
Find the following item and click on it to select it and then click on the Kill Process button to stop the process:C:\RECYCLER\S-1-5-21-57989841-1715567821-725345543-1004\service.exe
Now click the Scan button to perform a scan. Look for the following items and click in the checkbox in front of each item to select it:O23 - Service: Microsoft Windows OLE (WinOLE) - Unknown owner - C:\RECYCLER\S-1-5-21-57989841-1715567821-725345543-1004\service.exe

Close ALL open windows except HijackThis and click the Fix Checked button to finish the repair.

Now start CleanUp! and click on the CleanUp! button. Let it run through to the end. It may take a few minutes.

OK. Reboot your computer normally, start HijackThis and perform a new scan. Post your new log file back here using the Add Reply button and I will review it when it comes in.

Hi Old Timer,
Well, My comp is working alot better now...I have a few problems getting everything done as you had asked...First I could not get "CleanUp" downloaded because I could not get the page to come up(I used CCleaner instead, at the end) Then I used the Kill Process button on the C:/RECYCLER......Like you advise me to do but I got a pop up stating "it could not be killed. It may be protected by Windows"... ;) And then there was No 023 to put a checkmark in front of...So I hope what I did helped you and did not cause a problem...Here is the recent scan I just did ;) ...Thank you so very much, :tazz: duchee_blondgirl

Hi duchee_blondgirl. I think I see the problem. You are back to using that old version on HijackThis (v1.98). You must use the latest version that you downloaded earlier (v1.99.1). You can see this information in the top of the log.

Anyway, the service virus is still there. I would like you to post a new log with the new HijackThis but before you do so I want you to download and install the Microsoft Anti-Spyware Beta. Update the program and let it do a complete scan. This may take a little while so be patient. Perform the fixes that it suggests.

Then, reboot your computer normally, start HijackThis and perform a new scan. Post your new log file back here using the Add Reply button and I will review it when it comes in.

Hi duchee_blondgirl. We still have the services.exe file running from the Recycle Bin that we need to get rid of.

I want you to download Pocket Killbox and unzip it to your desktop.

Now follow these directions to delete the offending file:
  • Double-click on KillBox.exe.
  • Click "Delete on Reboot".
  • Copy/paste this file into the top "Full Path of File to Delete" box.
    • C:\RECYCLER\S-1-5-21-57989841-1715567821-725345543-1004\service.exe
  • Click the "Delete File" button which looks like a stop sign.
  • Click "Yes" at the Delete on Reboot prompt.
  • Click "Yes" at the Delete next Reboot prompt.
  • If you get a "PendingFileRenameOperations Registry Data has been Removed by External Process!" message then just restart manually.
When your system has rebooted sStart HijackThis and click the Scan button to perform a scan. Look for the following items and click in the checkbox in front of each item to select it:O23 - Service: Microsoft Windows OLE (WinOLE) - Unknown owner - C:\RECYCLER\S-1-5-21-57989841-1715567821-725345543-1004\service.exe
Now close ALL open windows except HijackThis and click the Fix Checked button to finish the repair.

OK. Reboot your computer normally again, start HijackThis and perform a new scan. Post your new log file back here using the Add Reply button and I will review it when it comes in.

Hi duchee_blondgirl. Even though the service still shows in the log it has been deleted and is no longer running in memory. Good job! Let's try this to remove it from the registry.

Start HijackThis and follow these steps:* Click on Config button
* Click on the Misc Tools button
* Click on the Delete an NT Service button
Copy/Paste the line below into the edit box and click the Ok button:WinOLE
OK. Close HijackThis and reboot your computer normally, start HijackThis and perform a new scan. Post your new log file back here using the Add Reply button and I will review it when it comes in.

That was easy wasn't it?

P.S. Here at GTG the Helpers get to keep all donations. :tazz:
