COD sever help

Hi, I've been playing COD for quite a while now, but every so oten me and my mates want to go onto a server where we can practise out nades, jumps etc. But when i try to make my own server, it always says 'Listen Server' in the place where the IP should be and when people try to connect it just says 'awaiting connection' for ages. Any know why?? or can give me a walkthrough on how to create a server that works? :tazz:
