Have searched the internet but could not find a satifactory method of removal. Several solutios suggested registry changes but with possible other undesirable effects on other entries. Also ways of removal through the add/remove. None seemed appropriate or worked.

When you try to remove the reader with the Add/Remove Programs application, what happens? Do you see any error messages?

Nothing happens, it's not in the add/remove list.
