Just like a few other people, PipasA is being detected and removed by SpyBot, but reappears after the system reboots.

If someone could look this logfile over, it would be great.

Hi dom1978 and welcome to the Geeks to Go Forums.

My name is Trevuren and I will be helping you with your log.

I need to get you to move HijackThis to a folder of its own (not in a Temporay Folder) so that nothing gets deleted by mistake

1. Right click in an empty space on your desktop.

2. From the Menu, click New, then Folder and a folder will appear on your desktop.

3. Name the folder HJT

4. Cut/Paste your current version of HijackThis into the new Folder that was just created.

We must disable the Real-Time Protection feature of Windows Defender for it may interfere with the changes we need to make.

To disable Real-Time Protection:

Go to "Tools" | "General Settings"
Scroll down to "Real-time protection options"
Uncheck "Turn on real-time protection (recommended)"
Remember to reactivate this feature when we have finished all our work.

Please print out these instructions for reference, since you will have to restart your computer during the fix.

Please download FixWareout from one of these sites:
http://downloads.sub.../Fixwareout.exe
http://swandog46.gee.../Fixwareout.exe
Save it to your desktop
Run the program.
- Click Next, then Install,
- Make sure "Run fixit" is checked
- Click Finish.
- The fix will begin; follow the prompts.
- You will be asked to reboot your computer; please do so. (Your system may take longer than usual to load; this is to be expected.)
- When your system reboots, follow the prompts.
Afterwards, HijackThis will launch.
Please click Scan, and place a checkmark beside the following entries:

Now, with all windows closed, click FIX CHECKED. Close HijackThis, and click OK to proceed.

At the end of the fix, you may need to restart your computer again.
Now lets check some settings on your system.
- Enter your Control Panel and double-click on Network Connections
- Then right click on your Default Connection
  - Usually Local Area Connection for Cable and DSL
- Left click on Properties
- Double-Click on the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) item
- Select the radio dial that says Obtain DNS Servers Automatically
- Press OK twice to get out of the properties screen and reboot if it asks
Next Go start run type cmd and hit OK
type
ipconfig /flushdns
then hit enter, type exit hit enter
(that space between g and / is needed)
Finally, please post the contents of the logfile C:\fixwareout\report.txt, along with a new HijackThis log into this topic.

I need to get you to move HijackThis to a folder of its own (not in a Temporay Folder) so that nothing gets deleted by mistake

1. Right click in an empty space on your desktop.

2. From the Menu, click New, then Folder and a folder will appear on your desktop.

3. Name the folder HJT

4. Cut/Paste your current version of HijackThis into the new Folder that was just created.

Please move HijackThis as requested.
