Hi, I'm trying to reformat my computer and reinstall windows xp.

I backed up my data by creating a hard drive partition and moving all my data onto that partion and formating and installing windows xp on the other.

The problem comes when I try to boot my windows xp cd. I set my BIOS to boot from the cd, but when I load it, I get an error message saying "no boot emulation" and it just boots windows xp from my hard drive. I searched google and couldnt really find anything.

Can anyone help me? Thanks!

Sounds like it's a non-genuine XP CD which hasn't been created properly - there's no boot image on it so it's not bootable like a genuine or properly mastered boot CD.
