So I was working w/ a geek-to-go trying to get a stubborn trojan off my winlogon.exe (forgive me, I am bad w/computers) It was suggested that I boot from my windows operating system disk to the recovery console. I my XP disk- there was no option to enter the recovery console- but the help menu told that you need to choose install windows XP then choose repair to enter the recovery console. When I did this- it asked me to reinstall or update- so I chose update- it then began to initiate an installation- It seemed like this was wrong- so I shut down the computer. When I rebooted- a screen came up saying "set up restarting" and then I got a black screen w/ just a mouse cursor- this happens even in safe mode. I was then advised to boot w/ the CD and complete the installation and was given a link explaining how to do this. I am now stuck on a screen that is asking me to set up windows xp professional - and to choose a partition... I don't even know what a partition is and am afraid that I am going to wipe out my harddrive if I do the wrong thing.

The options are -:partition1 [FAT]
C:partition 2 [NTFS]
E: Partition3 [fat32]

what should I do now??
