Hello!

I have had "Active Desktop Recovery" up for a few days now and I can't get it to go away. When I click restore my desktop I get a message like this:

"An error has occurred in the script on this page"

Line: 65
Char: 1
Error: Object doesn't support this action
Code: 0

the URL looks something like this file:///C:/DOCS AND SETTINGS/APP DATA/MICROSOFT/INTER EXPL/DESKTOP.htt

Then it asks if I want to continue running scripts on this page, no matter what button I press I can never recover. I can never click the button restore my desktop without getting this error.

THANKS!

This might help:

http://www.windowsit...3931/13931.html

According to the article you need to delete the DESKTOP.htt file, then choose "Refresh".

It's a hidden file so go to Tools >> Folder Options >> View and be sure "Show Hidden Files and Folders" is checked.

not only do you have to show hidden folder but also unhide the
"hide protected operating systems files(recommended)"

runbox command
- press keyboard buttons: winkey + r
- paste this: %userprofile%\Application Data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer
- press: enter
(internet explorer window opens)
- top of window click: tools
- click: folder options
- click tab: view
- click circle: show hidden files and folders
- untick box: hide protected operating systems files(recommended)
- click: apply
(at last the 'desktop.htt' file appears)
- delete file: desktop.htt

Close Explorer
Right click on the desktop and choose Refresh
