Hello everyone. Currently I have been learning about batch files and viruses when ironicly, I cought a virus somehow while learning them. This isn't your average virus however. I'm running a laptop with Windows XP with service pack 2 installed, so I log on through the log on screen. When my desktop starts loading, the screen flashes black for second or so (which I believe is normal) and than continues to load. What this virus does is very strange. When the screen turns black for a second or two like I mentioned before, when the black clears, everything is flipped upside down. When I say everything is flipped upside down, I mean the start bar is at the top of the screen and upside down. My desktop wallpaper is upside down. My icons are upside down! When I log off my log in screen is upside down! But the most puzzling part of the virus is that it inverts the touch pad. Strange eh? Luckly this virus isn't destructive (I hope so atleast) *knock on wood*. I think the virus has somesort of bomb on it to tell it to go off on certin dates though. I think it's set to saturdays? Anyway, I found Geeks to Go via a search of google for a forum that helps with malware removal. I am only 14 years old, and still learning so I need as much help and knollege as I can get. I am willing to do anysteps it takes to remove the virus, and your help would be very much appreciated.

What? Sorry but that isn't much help... and I don't plan to fix my screen resolution problem by flipping the laptop upside down thank you very much. I am using a laptop, so this Nvidia thing is probably not the case. I have a Dell Inspiron 5160 if that helps.

I do not think it is a "joke virus". Today my computer pulled another trick on me. When ever I moved my mouse all the way to the right, the screen shifted to the right. When ever I moved it all the way up, it shifted up. Same with down. Another wied thing happened, when I went to properties (by right clicking on the desktop), and than settings, I got some sort of error message. This is really confusing.

Once, at University, someone had flipped the screens of all the public computers (running on Windows XP) of the English Department upside down. The wallpaper, desktop icons, fonts, mouse-cursor and even the start-up screen...everything was displayed or moved upside down. People could not check out their e-mails or surf or do anything.
To reverse the upside down screen mode, press ctrl, alt and the up arrow (arrows console) at the same time; the screen will probably go blank. Turn off the monitor, turn it on again and the display will be normal again. If you possess a sense of humour or are antisocial, press ctrl, alt and the down arrow simultaneously, turn off the monitor, turn it on again and everyone (excluding the culprit) will be desperate --> upside down! Works for Windows XP Home and Prof.
