IE 7 up and running but no sound!

I recently dumped my system and rreloaded XP. I did everything to update to SP2, with all critical updates. My proplem is I now have no sound with IE7. When it's a video running throuhg Mediaplayer on a page, it does fine, but nothing else males a peep! I went under Advanced tools and clicked the play sound on webpage box as well.

Any ideas?
