What are the symptoms of helkern and how dangerous is it? also, i think i installed my antivirus program after my computer was affected, once i remove the worm will my antivirus protect me in the future? its Defender Pro.

If you think you've been infected by something, I would recommend posting a hijackthis log in the Malware Removal forum, which is here. One of the trusted helpers can look at your log and help you out.

i already have, thank you. i was just wondering what are some of the side effects...like what does it do. i've read that it is a very small worm that jumps IP addresses, but then it gets into technical lingo and i get lost with big words...lol.
