My PC Is Not Restarting ! Freezing

Hey Mates,

Here is my problem guys, when ever i try and do a 'shutup / restart' it goes all the way to 'Windows is shutting down screen' and just hangs there , I then have to press and hold power... Any idea's i have tried changing settings in 'Control panel' and nothing..

If it still happens

Can you switch off the peripherals and remove their USB leads, then try shutting down

If it shuts down then replace one lead, switch the peripheral on, try shut down until you find the one which is holding it up

Printers, scanners, anything which is connected by USB lead

Thanks a lot for your help but the first method didn't help ... And other than this, sometimes, when the pc is turned on for a long time, and while just clicking on start --> shutdown ... the pc freezes too ... Although I have a new memory card, a new harddisk ...

What do you think ?
