i have a compaq evo n610c that uses pc2700 ram. Where can i buy an inexpensive 512 ram chip. I really do not want to spend more than 70 dollars on one. Any ideas, hints, sites that i can go too?

Two websites I use all the time: Tiger Direct and newegg.

I've only ever had one issue with something from newegg and they addressed and fixed it quickly.
