I would go ahead and delete the connection and then disable the hardware in device manager. Reboot into vista and reenable your hardware and create a new connection. I've had to do this before in windows xp and it worked, but not sure if it'll work the same in vista.

you might also want to double check the drivers for your NIC...make sure that the ones you have are vista compatible...if they are try reinstalling them

I'm guessing they are compatible since they worked the first time and I have re-installed them, but still nothing. This is very weird. Oh, and If it helps I have a router installed and my laptop is wirelessly connected to it.

Well I would probably reinstall your router setup, Also remeber that not everything is completely supported with Vista. You may need to download some update drivers from you nic card provider from their official website.
