You're confusing me.. you said you could not install it but now you're uninstalling it?

Ok, anyway do this:

Start>run>%windir%\ie7\spuninst\spuninst.exe

That should uninstall it, by the way, when did the installation process give the error?

Its is a bit confusing

it installed but not a complete installation

some of the registry keys and other stuff

but since it did install some things i dont want them there cause i dont want what ever is there to cause or be a problem later on

im not on that computer right now cause im updating zone alarm

updated trend micro systems

windows updates

java sun

windows live messenger..the complete works

just updating the computer its never been used since its reformatt 6 months ago....but im on dialup at 28.8 kpbs

got the error after it was done said I E7 & did not install..restart to complete the installation...
after restart got a trouble shooting page to help you with the installatoin problems

microsoft not much help only interested in the errors but not helping you get a solution
to the actual problem

well try the spuninst when you get to your other machine, or try a system restore if that doesn't work, there are other methods of reinstalling IE6 but it can get complicated.

Well im certainly going to try spuninst

one good thing about the failed download is that it did not erase or overwrite IE6.. so thats ok

so once zone alarm is finished updating im going unistall IE7 with spuninst inform you in a hour of how it went

Ok, thanks, you're lucky IE6 still works, it usually doesn't on problems like these, i recommend having at least to browsers, i prefer firefox, and if firefox crashes i have IE7 to use.

Good luck, i await your reply

I suspected that would not work as ie7 did not install properly, check if there is even an ie7 folder in %windir%, note "check hidden files and folders" has to be checked to see the folder, if it's there is there a spuninst folder in it?

A) please edit your post and attach your log
B)this is an uninstall log and on the second line it shows C:\WINDOWS\ie7\spuninst\spuninst.exe
C)did you run spuninst.exe?
D)

thats what Microsoft put on desktop after it failed

after what failed? installation or uninstalling?
E)please post back with the questions answered.
