I checked with malware first, got all that resolved. http://www.geekstogo...howtopic=138472

I had hardly anything bad on my computer. My music still lags. I use an Acer Aspire 5102WLMi with AMD Turion 64 x2 Mobile Technology TL50 (1.6 GHz, 512KB L2 Cache), ATI Radeon Xpress 1100, 120GB PATA HDD, and 1GB DDR2.

You'd think my music would never lag, eh?

Well is there something that isn't that great about my laptop up there that I mentioned? I'm not that great about knowing their components, but I thought all the specs were good. What happened here? It's running on XP Media Center Edition... ironic. (I checked if it was XP Home or Pro and I guess it's neither?) Anyways, it has a tonne of built in crap by acer. I really hate that because it was slowing down my computer until I disabled all I could get my hands on that was safe. I want to delete what I can...

So. The reason I'm posting this is because I want some help, and even when I start up to desktop, the login music lags. That's pretty bad. Ask questions.

have you tried going to there site and see if theres a updated driver there

http://us.acer.com/a...;crc=2153616657
click on service and support

driverdownload

then on the left click on drivers and downloads

on the drop menu pick desktop or what your product is

to the right on drop menu pick you model click search and your drivers for audio should show pick the one for your operating system

if you dont see what your looking for then we will look at other possibilities

Yeah, I see that.

CHKDSK is verifying files (stage 1 of 5)...
File verification completed.
CHKDSK is verifyind indexes (stage 2 of 5)...
Index verification completed.
CHKDSk is verifying security descriptors (stage 3 of 5)...
Security descriptor verification completed.
CHKDSK is verifying Usn Journal...
Usn Journal verification completed.
CHKDSK is verifying file data (stage 4 of 5)
13 percent completed. D:

It's going so slow. It seems fine so far though. I mean the scan isn't finished yet.

14 percent... Kay, I'll just come back to it in an bit.

its slow depenping on how many bad sectors or clusters it has to repair

it could 45minutes or 1hour 30minutes average or simply just quick as 15 minutes or all night depends on amout of damage to disk

scannow does a repair check as well but you need xp cd to perform that one ......cause any repairs a sfc/ scannow does it may ask for xp cd to do neccessary repairs if the version of windows is not complete

but you could perform a prefetch >>>start>>run>>type in.. prefetch...click ok

Then go to edit select all then on any blue file right click and delete

reboot

Hi guys...

I don't see a problem with helping here. This isn't a P2P issue, it's a sound issue.

Can you give me a more complete description of what you hear? I'm sorry, but "lagging" isn't telling me much. Is the sound choppy? Does it skip or hang?
