I originally posted this in the "Applications" forum, but was directed here since it's a bit more of a networking issue.

-iTunes 7.0.2
m0n0wall router

I live in a dorm room at a university. It is my understanding that the dorm hall is on one subnet. Now, in my room I have a few computers and game systems behind a a router (a box running m0n0wall, with a switch). iTunes has the music sharing feature, however it only allows you to share on your local subnet. So, all of my dorm-mates who are directly connected into the dorm subnet (just their one computer directly to wall ethernet jack) can share and see shared music via iTunes. However, me being behind another layer, my own private subnet, can neither see nor share music with anyone else other than my own computers. Is there any way to get around this and make it seem like my computer is part of the dorm subnet rather than my private "subsubnet" and have iTunes sharing work?

i know this dosent direclty solve your issue, but what about purchasing a cheap switch instead of your router? Does your dorm care about how many ip's they assign each person?

Unfortunately, they do. Only one per person :/
