Mobile Phone viruses

I recently downloaded a couple of free java mobile phone games from the Internet. Is there a way those games come with a virus that could infect my mobile phone (Motorola L6)?.
I scanned them with Avast 4.7 Home Edition and it didn't find any viruses.
Does avast detect mobile phone viruses?.

Any help would be appreciated.

P.S : I apologize if this post should not be in this forum but it's the one i thought where it could belong.
