well. recently my !@#$ isp latency has currently prevented me from playing any games online, i would jump in "for example" bf 2142 start out with a ping of 80, then every thing goes bad from there.. i get kicked from punk-buster, even with a server only filled with FOUR! people........ive resete my modem and router countless times, i even sent a e-mail to my isp with this poor excuse for a answer

Hello Eduardo,

If you feel that you are experiencing speed issues, it is important to determine
if these issues are between the cable modem and your computer, or between the
cable modem and the rest of the internet.

If Web pages appear to be loading slowly:

First, reboot the cable modem and all hardware such as router, hub or computer
by unplugging all of the equipment and shutting down the computer. Wait 5
seconds and then power on the cable modem again. Before proceeding, please wait
until the "online" or "cable" light is solid. Next, power on the router or hub,
if you have one, and then turn on the computer again.

Second, you may want to reset your web browser to defaults to ensure that the
settings are not causing your issues with speed. Follow the link below for
instructions on resetting Internet Explorer to defaults.

If you are experiencing slow download/upload speeds:

It is important to determine if the issue is with one specific site or location.
The speed of your connection to a remote location is determined not only by your
connection speed, but the connection speed of the remote location, and the
average traffic speed of the internet between you and the remote location.

To test your connection speed, please visit a speed test site, such as one
listed below:

www.speedtest.net

www.toast.net

www.speakeasy.net

www.dslreports.com

www.pcpitstop.com

www.refdesk.com

*NOTE* Your connection speed will vary, depending on the speed test you run, the
location that you are connecting to, the level of traffic on the Internet at
that time, and the configuration of your computer and internal network. For this
reason, it is best to run multiple speed tests from multiple sites, and take the
average.

***If you have any file sharing programs running, or other computers on your
network, this will have an impact on your overall download/upload speed. The
connection will be split amongst each program accessing the internet on each
computer. If you have other computers running, or file sharing programs running,
you may want to disable or turn them off, and test your connection speed.

If you are having issues connecting to an online game server:

First, check the help site for your game to ensure there are no performance or
connection issues.

Second, reboot the cable modem and all hardware such as router, hub or computer
by unplugging all of the equipment and shutting down the computer. Wait 5
seconds and then power on the cable modem again. Before proceeding, please wait
until the "online" or "cable" light is solid. Next, power on the router or hub,
if you have one, and then turn on the computer again.

Third, check the game's help site to determine the location of your game server.
In order to determine the cause of latency, we would need a traceroute to the
game site.

To perform a traceroute on a Windows-based computer, open a command prompt
(WinXP - Go to "Start", "Run", Type CMD and hit OK. Win98*Guest - Go to "Start",
"Run", Type Command and hit OK.)

From the Command Prompt, type tracert x, where x is the name of the game site
(Format should be something like 100.200.300.400)

Copy and paste the traceroute information into an email to [email protected],
along with a brief description of the issue, including any errors that you may
be getting. We can then forward this information to our engineers to determine
if there is an issue on our network.

comment: I don't even know were to start, I have to deal with you service which
I describe as poor but your the only isp in this area, recently ive tried to
play my online games only to have find that your connection is always giving me
a bad ping rate (connection to there servers) and it s not them that's the
problem.
I don't know what changes your company has made recently but it has prevented me
from enjoying my online games cause once I join my ping fly's and the system
called punk-buster kicks me off, that system is to improve the game by removing
people with bad connections so that others may enjoy because if not everyone
suffers. I have tried resetting my modem and my router with the same result as
before. I want an answer why can I not enjoy my hobby.
