Hello!

I have a Microtek scanner ~ model V6USL

I've had it about 6 years..but it's occasionally used and haven't really had any issues - until I got my new machine last may. I've had to reinstall the software 5-6 times for it to recognize it... It was working fine ~again ~ until I had to move my desk and all it's USB children. Now, it responds to commands (preview, scan..etc..) but there is no image..? it's all white! What's even stranger is that the cover to my scanner - is dark gray/Black.. I've changed cords and USB ports...I have no idea what is going on...can ya help me?

Are you using the latest available Windows XP driver from the makers website (not the original driver supplied with the scanner, which may be incompatible)? XP is very fussy if the device driver is not intended for for that OS. True, the scanner and OS are communicating with each other, but an old driver that came with the scanner could still cause 'glitches' if it was written before XP was available.
