hey guys

I recently recieved my super fast Dell PC with 2 Xeon processors....amazing!!!!!

I installed XP Home in 16 minutes!!!!!!!!

anyway...... thats not what I'm on about.

my dvd drive doesnt fit in the case properly and i'm wondering if i have to buy a DELL DVD drive to get round this.

i have used DELL pc 's before and never had this problem. maybe a new way to get more money out of us????

let me know your thoughts

thanks

If it's a small case it might be tricky. If it's a moderately large case then it should fit, why didn't you add the Dell DVD drive when you were building the pc?

DVD & CD drives are all the same standard width. There is considerable variation in the depth or length that the drive extends into the case. If the one you have is too long, carefully measure the maximum distance allowing for cable connections etc and get the drive of your choice that will fit. I agree the best option would have been to have Dell do it in the first place.

i already had this dvd drive lying around so didnt want to waste it it.

i've managed to fit the drive but it doesnt sit flush with the outer casing. the drive sinks in a little, maybe 5mm.

thanks guys
