HP laptop problem

I've got an HP n5270 with a 15" screen. The screen started flickering lately and then suddenly went black. Hooked up another monitor to it and the computer seems to work fine. I replace the inverter with another one. Same thing happened after only 10 to 15 minutes. Anybody know of what could be causing this? Surely the new inverter was'nt bad, I wouldn't think. TIA!
