Every time I try to play a game the computer will restart (computer was home built)

The game will install and it will get to the main menu but as soon as it gets there it will restart.

I have already cleaned the harddrive out too.

What can i do to fix that?

Specs: windows xp Proffesional
512 MB ram
9600 radeon video card
Motherboard is L4VXA2 elite Group
Celron R
Think its 80 GB HD
And I built it myself

Any game I use it will restart for no reason.
Some it will play for 5-10 min and then restart.

Sounds like the processor is overheating to me, did you put thermal paste between the Processor and the Heatsink when building the computer?

No, PC overheating would cause different issues, and would not be only gaming.

Bad video card, driver incompatibility, bad power supply, bad RAM, chipset driver issue...it's a fairly long list.

Grab Everest free edition (http://www.majorgeek...wnload4181.html)
install it, run it, click on the + next to Computer, click on Sensor, and let us know what it reads there for:
12v, 5v, 3.3v, CPU Temp, GPU Temp, System (or Motherboard) Temp
Some may not be there.

The CPU overheating would infact be a reason for it resetting. If a processor gets too hot it will reset, and it will get hottest whilst playing a game, as it is working very hard. This overheating of all different components could potentially cause a reset of the computer.

I got a Intel Celeron® CPU 2800GHz and it also doesn't start some games and by some games it plays slowmotion but for the most games you must look good at their requirments most of them need a Intel Pentium processor for example take this:

http://www.conqueron...nstallation.htm
* Windows 95/98/ME/2000 Pro/XP
* 800 MHz or faster Intel Pentium processor
* 128MB RAM
* Video Card with 16MB RAM or higher
* 1GB free hard drive space
* Internet connection with 56 Kbps or faster connection speed
* DirectX 8.1 or higher with compliant video and sound card

Most times freeware games got this.
