internet explorer and msn fault

my pc has started to go really slow and internet explorer and msn wont work. however the internet works through firefox. i have virus softwear and its been scanned along with spywear (mcafee) and nothig has been found. i uninstalled IE but when i come to reinstall it it wont let me. and the pc is so slow some things wont even work on it

anyone know why?

Start > Control Panel > (left pane) classic view > Internet Options > Connections > LAN Settings > *TICK* Auto Detect Settings > OK > OK > Reboot > Try again...
