A few weeks ago I deleted Mircosoft word off my computer. I would like to reinstall it or get it back but I don't know how. I have my Microsoft works suite 2002 Disc 1 but when I use it nothing happens.

Any help?

Microsoft Word is a different application from Microsoft Works Suite. To reinstall Word, you'll need the installation CD.

Did you purchase Microsoft Word separately, or did it come with a new computer?

If it came pre-installed on a new computer, was it a full version or trial version? If full version, you should have received a reinstallation CD.

It came with the computer.
The works suite 2002 cd says "contents MS suite 2002 set up, MS word, MS works 6.0, MS works clip art"

I belive this CD I have is the reinstallaton CD but its not working.

Not working how? Does it not autorun?

If not, you can browse the CD and find the setup file you need to run. If it includes Word, there should be a folder on the CD that says Microsoft Word, or something similar. It may be under a folder called Additional Software.

Or possibly, look for autorun.exe in the root of the CD. Double-click that and see if it comes up with a menu of the different titles to install.

Well
you could just download open office as an alternative and it is free
the download is large though because it is an entire suite
whats good about it is you can save to lots of different file formats making it compatible with ms office
if you are interested the website is openoffice.org

I have not gotten Word back. But thank fully I am getting a new computer soon. So lets all hope I don't get any major assignments between now and then
