To upgrade or not?

Im going to upgrade my motherboard and my CPU with a combo package.... but im having issues with whether or not a few things are compatable.... i thought ide get some help form someone who knew =)

I have a few things i need to know....
If the 2 HDDs i have and the 2 Drives i have are compatable with the cables and all that that board comes with as well as if i can use the IDE cables from the current motherboard on the new 1 if it does not come with enough.

Anyway, you can take your drives and cables to the new board. You will also need to repair your Windows to talk to the new board before you boot into Windows for the first time, otherwise it won't work.

Im really not sure on the brand lol which i have also found a different 1 for less...... its basically the same but its a bloody AMD.... i still have to buy another copy of Windows before i can even get the board or RAM cause i have lost mine lol....you repair BEFORE installing the new mobo?
