It may seem silly but I am unable to find an English 'pound' sign on my keyboard. It annoys me to have to type out the letters each time.

Anyone out there with an Acer Aspire who has the same problem?

For the Pound Sterling symbol £, try ctrl-alt-e or alt-0163 (keypad not numbers at top keyboard).

Thanks for trying, LindGail, but the Control Alt and e came up with the Euro sign. This is handy to know!

I couldn't get anything at all with your alternative but thanks for the effort. cigos

You can insert the Pound symbol by going into Character Map (Start, Programs Accessories, System Tools). That symbol is available under Arial, Book Antiqua, Times New Roman, and most others.

If you're primarily needing the symbol while using Word, then look at this article called 6 Tips for Adding International Characters and Symbols to Your Document.
