I have Windows Xp and noticed the other day that my start menu is part gray and white and nomatter what I do I can't change this. Is this a system/windows xp problem or do I need to change something in properties? Thanks for taking the time to listen to my problem. Attached is a screenshot of the problem.

This is Windows telling you that new software has been installed and thinks its being helpful by flagging it.
Don't worry about it, it'll turn all grey again eventually.
