Hello, I recently purchased a DVI-HDMI cable to connect my PC to my Philips CRT HDTV. My problem is... I can get it to show up on the screen, but it severely flickers. This is in 1080i TV resolution. I think the problem is that it is trying to send a 1080p signal.

I have an old GeForce FX 5200 video card. Is it just not compatible? or is it that I need a patch? or what would it be?

No... that doesn't help at all unfortunately.

I have the resolution feeding out to the TV as 1920x1080, and the TV is set to display 1080i. I can see my desktop image on the TV, it's displayed in the correct resolution, but is is shaking and somewhat speckly (snow in some areas...) It just doesn't seem to be synced properly.

The nvidia knowledbase doesn't have much on HDMI so maybe you could e-mail their tech support to see if it is the card or the drivers

The 5200 doesn't do HD out very well, and very few nvidia cards, except the brand new ones, will do anything at all through an HDMI to DVI cable. Check with your manufacturer.
