They have drivers for the monitor but for 98, could you check if XP has native drivers for the monitor, they may also know something new

I looked at the banner on the site and after saving it, in irfanview it looked the same

If you right click the desktop, click properties, click settings, what is the colour quality setting?

If setting it to 16 bit makes no difference, set it back to 32 bit then see what their online tech says, ask him anything and everything and hopefully it will rule the monitor in or out of the equation
