Hi. My computer has been restarting at random lately. Why would it be doing this?

Hi Alaster! Welcome to G2G!

To better help you, please do the following two things:

1.) I need you to turn off auto restart. When you do so instead of restarting when you have a system error it will give you a STOP code on a Blue Screen of Death.

Turn off auto restart
  • Control Panel< System < Advanced < Startup and recovery
  • Uncheck the Auto Restart box.
Once you have done this next time it will give you a Blue Screen of Death with a STOP code instead of rebooting. Could you please post the STOP code in your next post.

2.) Download Speedfan (The download link is in the first line of the second paragraph), and install it. Once it's installed, run the program and post here the information it shows. The information I want you to post is the stuff that is circled in the example picture I have attached.

Please also post the error you receive when your computer normally would restart, but now gives a blue screen with white text. The main information i want is the message towards the top that IS_IN_ALL_CAPITAL_LETTERS. In that format too. :whistling:
