Can't copy sheet in excel

In some spreadsheet files, I'm not able to create a duplicate of an excel worksheet. I do the normal "move or copy sheet" and "create a copy" in the edit function, but it won't let me copy that particular worksheet. This doesn't happen often, but has happened in a few worksheets. The worksheets are unprotected. Can anyone help me?
