Some people say Firefox is more secure. As its popularity grows, so will the exploits, as people turn their energy to finding its vulnerabilities, like they have IE in the past. FF requires some extensions in order for some pages to display properly, while IE works "as-is". IE is also necessary for obtaining Windows Updates.

FF vs. IE can turn into a "Fords & Chevys" argument pretty quickly. They both have strengths, and they both have flaws. Use the one you feel comfortable with, and keep them both in good working order so that you have either option available when surfing.
