Am I asking to much here?
The reason is..
Some of the components in my Home Theartre system don't actualy need to be on standby, if I were to shut them down completely it would be a power saving. Especially as there are regular periods when the house is unocupied.
I do try to physicaly turn things off, but lets face it, easily forgotten.
I'd like to have a remotely controled power board, with a hard wired infered reciever mounted at the front of the cabinet (which is an enclosed unit with filtered ventilation system built in). Then this small infered reciever controls the power board.
My remote unit should then be able to learn this signal.
I have looked through numerouse home automation sites, electronic specialist sites and found nothing close.
It doesn't have to be specficaly what I am looking for here.
As I am soon to comence build a HTPC, i understand that this can be shut down completely via the remote and its own controls, I can't help but wonder if this can be extended for monitors and other equipment.
Any thoughts would be appreciated, Thanx
