My friend called me over to his house saying that his touch pad mouse was not working. I removed the drivers, reinstalled and still nothing. Now he is not that computer smart...well smart. I had helped him out before by installing AVG, which he never updated nor ran. Since that did not work, I decided to run Hijackthis to see what was running that might be causing this. Have fun, I counted atleast 4 questionable processes, but I am not an expert. I will post the list, and it will take approx. 2 days to respond to any responses.

Hello again :whistling:,

I do not see an antivirus running at start-up. Can you make sure that your antivirus is running at start-up.

I don't see anything malicious in your log but I want you to run the following tool to clean some left-overs.

Please download VundoFix.exe to your desktop
  • Double-click VundoFix.exe to run it.
  • Click the Scan for Vundo button.
  • Once it's done scanning, click the Remove Vundo button.
  • You will receive a prompt asking if you want to remove the files, click YES
  • Once you click yes, your desktop will go blank as it starts removing Vundo.
  • When completed, it will prompt that it will reboot your computer, click OK.
  • Please post the contents of C:\vundofix.txt and a new HiJackThis log in a reply to this thread.
Note: It is possible that VundoFix encountered a file it could not remove. In this case, VundoFix will run on reboot, simply follow the above instructions starting from "Click the Scan for Vundo button" when VundoFix appears upon rebooting.

Open HijackThis, click Config, click Misc Tools
Click "Open Uninstall Manager"
Click "Save List" (generates uninstall_list.txt)
Click Save, copy and paste the results in your next post.

In your next reply I'll be looking for the following:
  • A new HijackThis log
  • Vundofix.txt
  • An uninstall list
