okay, like a idiot i took my heatsink fan and put in on my 530j processor and then took it off. when i looked at it, the thermal compound was messed up. so i had to go out and buy some antec formula 5 and spread it on their. it might be better since its not some cheap compound, but i have questions on it. it said to apply some on both the cpu core and the heatsink area where the cpu core will touch. so i did. but how much is too much? and will too much hurt the processor?

oh boy, yes, too much will FRY you CPU, you want to put on just enought o bairly cover it, it only needs to be put on the CPU though really, all it is used for to to make a good contact between the heatsink and the CPU, but is highly conductive, and can/will fry a CPU if given the chance
