Greetings and thank you ahead of time for any help.

We've been getting several different .dll errors since switching to a new ISP and DSL:

"Mcupdate has caused an error in kernel32.dll. Mcupdate will now close."
"Explorer has caused an erro in shlwapi.dll. Expolorer will now close."
"Mcinfo has caused an error in msxml3.dll. Mcinfo will now close."

In addition, the computer often freezes when we're on the Internet or when we try to shut down the computer. (It did that with our previous cable ISP, too.)

Does this sound like a malware issue for posting in the malware forum? (I've run all the prerequisite scans).
Or might something else be at play?

Thank you.

Thanks for getting back to me. :-)
Looks like the System File Checker Tool isn't available for Windows ME because the latter has SFP.
In Windows/System/sfp, the last date in the Sfplog was back in July 2006.
That may be when the computer began having the shut down problem... I don't remember.
The error messages (original post) began in the past couple of weeks.
Is there something else I can try?
Thanks!
