I just installed Microsoft Office 2002 on my laptop and i have a problem. The Photo editor wont open jpeg or jpg files. Help

i tried to open a picture with it by clicking on "open with" and it says unkown file format. The only formats shown are bmp, tif, png, pcd and pcx

Can you open the JPG or JPEG from inside Photo Editor?

Check to be sure graphics filters are completely installed. Go to Add/Remove Programs, Microsoft Office, Change, Add or Remove Features, open Office Shared Features, Converters and Filter. It it's not already solid white, click it and choose Run all from my computer. Reboot and try to open a jpg or jpeg file again.

I cant open it from inside photo editor.

i tried but it didnt help. ill reinstall windows and try it again

I need it mainly to resize and crop pics. is there any other program i can use instead since this isnt working?

I also changed the program that will open jpg and jpeg images to the photo editor and i tried to open an image from photo editor and changing that thingy to "all files" since it shows only the png files on my PC. This is the error message i got

I use XnView - it's freeware graphics utility. You can download it here.

So did you reinstall just Photo Editor or Office? If just PE, then try Office.
