IE: New windows are blank

IN IE, I can go along fine until a link opens a new window. The window opens but it's blank. Same for links in emails. Favorites seems to be working fine.

FWIW, I recently accepted a java upgrade and installed Nero for a new DVD burner.

start - run - regsvr32 urlmon.dll should fix that. Let me know.

It said it did but I still have the problem. And I find I'm going into Safe Mode about half the time I start up the computer. I was thinking I would reinstall XP when i have the time. In the meantime I installed the Forefox browser and it's pretty nice- even faster than IE!

I've been a little rusty on tech issues though. Is reinstalling the OS periodically a good idea?
