Allright, well this is another 'making my first computer thread'. In the past my dad has boughten everything and done all the technical stuff, but its time I ventured into this on my own.. I'm building a gaming rig, that will be able to play most of the stuff out there at reasonable graphics and such... I have had my current system for like 4 years now, and it simply just isn't really cutting it anymore.. My system now is:

Dell Intel P4 2.4GHZ+ motherboard that comes with it
1 Gig of DDR Pc2700 Ram
Fx 5200 AGP

So... I've been trying to contruct a system, and here is what I have so far.. I probably won't be able to buy this system for a month or so, so please tell me if there will be any significant price drops in that I should be aware of.
I also hardly know anything about motherboards, so any reccomendations would be helpful.

What am keeping:

Speakers, Mouse, Moniter, Sound Card, Hard Drive, Modem. Operating System

New hardware:

Proccessor, RAM, Video Card, Motherboard, Cpu/GPU or Heatsink/fan?,

Price Limit: $1000 CND

Video Card: BFG GeForce 7600 GT OC PCI-E 256MB 128BIT GDDR3 Dual DVI HDTV Out SLI Ready Video Card

Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo E6400 Dual Core Processor LGA775 Conroe 2.13GHZ 1066FSB 2MB Retail

RAM: ?

Motherboard: ?

CPU Case: Thermaltake Matrix ATX Silver Black MID-TOWER Case 4X5.25 2X3.5 4X3.5INT Front No PS

Power Supply: Thermaltake TR2 W0070 430W ATX12V V1.3 24PIN/20PIN Power Supply Dual 80MM Fan /W 6PIN PCI-E
http://www.ncix.com/...x.php?sku=15489

I plan to overclock a tad, nothing extreme as I don't have much overclocking experience... So far this is $520 Canadian without tax.. so technically i still have another $480 left to spend, but if you know of any reasonably priced RAM and MOBO combination that works well I am all ears.

Thanks!

PS: I was wondering, does that Processor I am buying come with a heatsink/fan? or will I have to buy those things seperately? and will I have to buy a fan for the graphics card?

Your video card is limited so you will have to deal with that. A 512 MB 7900 or 7950 would be much better. es, i know they are expensive but you want to game so "just do it". Prices are coming down now that the 8800's are here.

For ram and gaming you are limiting yourself also. All my gamer friends run more than 2 Gig's or ram.

and the MB is

or

Just my opinions.
