I downloaded and used Simple File Shredder and ran it to delete the contents of my recycle bin. However, in the process it seems to have wiped out some of my operating system as now when I start my computer I get the message "NTVDM has encountered ans illegal instruction", and it keeps refering to the rundll32.exe file.

Also, if I try and use any of the Control Panel functions, I get the same message. Saying that, applications such as Outlook, Firefox, Word etc. all seem to be working ok, if a bit slowly.

I have run Registry Mechanic, which fixed some errors, but not this one.

Any suggestions for what I should do?

Cheers
